Thanks Joe for passing that link along.....that IS pretty cool!

The York videos to the right are good, too.

I think all our bracket tracks still have those same speakers!
Dammit....why couldn't I have been born in 1959 instead of 1979???? Nice finds Joe and Ron.
Jackie posted a link to this about a month ago. It is indeed a cool video.
SEE they stood up even back then! LOL
Man did those bring back some memories of what it was like to attend an event back then...
And....how did they manage to do it all without a Countdown?
As an aside, that was Pat Foster in the M/T red car and Gerry Schwartz in the "Ratty Cat" Cougar in the terrible accident at the 4:00 mark.

Here is some more footage my dad got, he left his digger at home that weekend to go and watch.
There was also a photo in the drag mag of David Powers digger at dallas on that site
I remember that race, the blue altered at the beginning was Jerry Gwen, he won "super" eliminator I think it was called, at that race. I forgot about Jack Ditmars' Opel neat car back then.
did you see the class designation on Ditmars Opel? I had forgotton it was an A/Fuel altered. I always liked the opel GTs from back then. Bob Lombardi's blown 327 purple Opel GT, Al Page's blown 327 Lime green Opel GT, Frank and Linda Mazi's blown 354 chrysler Opel GT. The Wayne County A/Gas small block Opel GT in later years.
